Coaches
1-2-Træner
Get off to a good start - attend the 1-2-Træner Course!
At the 1-2-Træner course, new coaches are equipped to step into the coaching role both before, during, and after training sessions. The course is divided into two modules, each lasting 4 hours:
-
Module 1. A general part that enables coaches to relate to the new role as a coach and provides them with input on the considerations they can make when the goal is to create a fun and challenging training session.
-
Module 2. A softball-specific part that provides the coach with inspiration for concrete softball exercises and games, as well as suggestions on how to structure the training session.
It's that easy
1-2-Træner makes it easy and quick to get started with coaching, whether the new coach is 12, 34, or 54 years old. Therefore, the course is for both the young or new coach and for the parents who are waiting for their children to finish training anyway.
Get off to a good start – it strengthens the entire club.
Standing as a new coach can be a significant challenge—especially if, as a new coach, you don't have a clear idea of what it takes to conduct a good training session. The 1-2-Træner course is tailored to address exactly that situation. The ability to plan and execute a good training session often revolves around having specific tools to make it happen—and getting an idea of what the training should achieve.
How it's done
1-2-Træner is structured around two modules, each lasting 4 hours. Here, the coaches will cover a range of areas that are important for their role as coaches:
-
How do they fulfill the coaching role before, during, and after training?
-
How do they plan a good training session?
-
What exercises can they use during warm-up?
-
How do they challenge everyone during training?
Something to take home
In addition to participants hopefully gaining a lot of tools and inspiration from the course, we also ensure to provide them with concrete teaching materials so they can use what they've learned afterward. Therefore, all participants receive a course booklet for each module, allowing them to go home, read more, and apply it practically in their coaching.
At the same time, we have developed a mobile application with all training exercises, making it extra easy to transfer the good ideas from the course to the training sessions. Finally, a starter kit and other 1-2-Træner gifts are included.
1-2-Træner can now be held in YOUR club.
It's possible to hold the course in your club. You can choose dates that suit your club, and then the federation will provide an instructor for the course. You can choose to hold the course in one day with all 8 hours, or place the two modules on separate days.
Participants can be new coaches, assistant coaches, the oldest junior players, or parents/grandparents who help with training and/or in general with the team.
For more information, refer to the club and participant guide, and contact udvikling@softball.dk to learn more about how the 1-2-Træner course can come to your club.

Træner 1
"Træner 1" is the first part of the Danish Softball Federation's coaching education.
The purpose of the education is to train complete softball coaches so that all clubs can offer their players skilled coaching and thereby retain and develop new softball players.
Participants acquire skills in practical and theoretical coaching and learn to design a safe, fun, and challenging training program. Fundamental softball exercises, methodology, training theory, and shadow coaching are some of the modules in the course. The education consists of both theoretical and practical parts and lasts for 25 hours. Additionally, there is a course from the Danish Sports Confederation (DIF) that lasts for 12-15 hours. (DIF Træner 1)
On the education, there will also be qualified Danish instructors as well as instructors from ESF and ISF.
After completing the education, you will receive a certificate as well as be registered in DSoF’s coaching database.

It is a requirement to have completed Træner 1 in order to participate in Træner 2.
